beautiful

Look at how beautiful this room is. I want that amazing white light. The whole entire room just looks so comfortable, inviting and happy.

i love my little apartment but sometimes I wish i could change things every single day. Since I was a little girl, I've always had a weird obsession with bedding. I wish I could change my comforter/blanket EVERY DAY. I'm on the hunt for a new one since my trusty year old Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic for Target comforter got ruined in the washing machine. Mysterious gray stains appeared and it smells horrible. I think it's because I left it in the machine (which is located outside) for two days? And it rained? Is that what happens? Either way, it's a goner. Looks like getting a new bedspread is the only decorating changes I'll be making lately which is fine by me. My birthday is coming up and that is one of the only things I want.

Speaking of birthdays. I'm turning 22 next weekend. I don't want it to happen. Well, the 'turning 22' thing isn't bothering me, but I guess I'm officially old because I think there's too much pressure on birthdays. Plus, I've never lived alone on my birthday & so far away from my family. I've always had roommates, or I've been with family. So I guess that's bothering me. Here it comes, though.

karkrashian

i have a love/hate relationship with the Kardashians.

Sometimes I find myself watching the show and laughing at it but most of the time i'm rolling my eyes. I get a kick out of them though somehow. Khloe is genuinely cool and funny. Kris is so crazy and mom-pimp but i'm kind of into it. Kendall/Kiley is whatever. Kim is beautiful. Bruce is a candle wax face but his frustration and "dAaww these c-r-a-z-y girls!" attitude is kind of charming. Let's face it, Rob is sexy. And Kourtney? Her voice is obviously as bad as pouring burning olive oil into your eyeballs but her style is.on.point. I think she's the best dressed and adorable.

And sorry, the way she clutches onto that baby like he's a fucking human Hermes Birkin bag is just wonderful.

unfortunately, i don't have much to talk about on here. life in fall 2010 is continuing to be a big ol' fun train to god know's where. i like it a lot. none of it needs to be shared on the internet. so im going to continue posting songs that i love at the moment.

if you're in the mood for a 15 minute song. please listen to this. i've been loving this song since the EP came out and yes it's long and yes it's been described as "trippy" or "annoying" or "too drawn out" (oh, whut'er.), but i don't care. it's an orgasm to the ears.

throwbaq. rodarte 08.

It's been a couple years now but this fall 2008 Rodarte collection will always be one of my all time favorites. I love looking at collections on a couple of different levels. Of course as a human, and a consumer (although not quite with this price range obviously), you're drawn to the beautiful, classic, wearable pieces found in most of the well known designers' collections. Another level would be the dramatic, theatrical, more 'arty' productions that are completely out of your element & helps you just appreciate designer's brains. Then there is the middle ground which makes me think of Rodarte.

Their pieces are extraordinarily intricate and unique. At first glance, you kind of want to make a face at it and pass it off as a big ol' mess but the closer you look, the closer you fall in love with all the complete tender love and care that went into presenting this wearable art. It's not only interesting to look at and explore with your eye, it is flattering for a woman's form. Most of their designs walk the line between extremely dark and feminine. I think every woman should walk that line every once in a while whether it's wearing one of Rodarte's $1,200+ pieces (unlikely) or doing something else that's not exactly expected or perfect, but do it with elegance. Kind of say "fuck you" but also remain completely graceful and beautiful. The way the Mulleavy sisters literally pile on and mix grungey/ugly elements with daintiness is beyond inspiring.
